Your Sim card couldn’t be read when trying to activate Google Fi on moto x4 bought through FI 0 Recommended Answers 0 Replies

Have a moto x4 android one purchased through Project Fi. Upgraded to to Pixel 3. Now I am trying to add my father to my group plan and let him use the moto x4. The moto x4 still had my old number , Support said, no problem we will just send a new sim card and sign in with his gmail address and once activated a new number will be issued.. Well I have had 4 cards sent to me (due to issues trying to accept the invite, support had me delete and re-invite, etc, so everytime I did that i got another card. Anyway, none will work, all display “Your SIM card couldn’t be read” I have ensured all apps are updated (including ProjectFi to Google Fi) ensured calls, SIMS, and location permissions are turned on. Cleared cache and storage. Restet phone to factory defaults. Ensured only my dad’s gmail is present, added a payment option. Nothing is working ! HELP !!! Any ideas ?

I have a ticket number but decided after trying 4 sim cards in the motox4, I thought I would try one of them in my old nexus 6P. Bingo, worked on first try. Only issue right now is trying to get mobile data to work. WIFI calls and texts work with no issue, but even with mobile data turned on it is not working. Had my partnet go to town where we receive cell service and attempted to send me a text and recieved the message “Turn data on in device settings”, “No SMS/MMS connection “
