That depends on the reason the ads are there. Channels who get hit by YouTube’s new ‘Right to monetize’ are not compensated; and this is clearly stated in the Terms of Service. Neither do channels with copyright-claimed videos, unless the videos are cover songs and the copyright owners are willing to share revenue.
