(non fixed – deleted feature) Why did you cancel auto-add feature in playlist settings? 0 Recommended Answers 0 Replies

Auto-add feature saved me a lot of time. Now I need to manually assign every one video to my playlists.I would be really happy if you’ll return this feature back.Thank you so much

Details

I’ve noticed that all my existing auto-adds still work, although we are unable to create new ones. Not sure if that’s a bug or if it’s going to stay that way – hope it does. And yea, it would be nice to have that feature restored. UPDATE 1/14/21: the existing auto adds now no longer work. I appeal to Google to create an alternative as this is wreaking havoc on our channel as well as those of many others.Yeah ! Restore AUTO ADD !I can’t understand the reason of removing such a valuable featureLikewise, this was the only way to get around the “feature” that even private or scheduled videos show up in public playlists.Either bring back the auto-add or make sure that only public videos are visible in public playlists. (No, a [Private Video] empty box is not a solution)Why? Why? Why? I just don’t understand why this feature has been removed. It’s not as if it costs YouTube anything extra to have the auto-add function. The
problem I am having is that all my new videos are automatically being
added to a particular (old) playlist and I cannot go in to change or cancel
the auto-add function. Will this stay like this forever? I want to be
able to create a new playlist and I don’t want all new videos
automatically going to the old playlist. In other words, removing this
feature has also removed our ability to cancel this feature. Just
doesn’t make sense. Please restore the auto-add function ASAP.This feature was brillant. Please bring it back!!Agreed! This is very frustrating. I had multiple playlists for the channel I’m editing and the auto add option made it so easy to keep everything ordered.Bring it back! This was a very important feature for our publication process every week. We used it very successfully to be able to upload and schedule a video for publication on the weekend when we are not working. Now that YT took this away (without any notice, which broke our process as we were unaware!), we will have to go back to manually moving our videos to specific playlists that feed our website early Sunday mornings when we are not working. This feature should never have been removed, especially without an alternative. In an era when technology is supposed to be helpful and easy to manage, why would you remove a simple feature to set us back to manual processes? It does not make sense no matter how “few” users utilized this feature. I will be looking into Vimeo after this.Open letter to YouTube,I’m writing to give feedback, and seek advice about your announcement that the “Auto Add” feature for playlists has been depreciated. For the last three years, every single video I have uploaded has made use of this feature, in order to make the video available in the correct playlist on the moment of it’s release, after being scheduled. I consider the Auto Add feature to be a Mission Critical feature of YouTube Studio, as essential as the ability to make playlists in the first place. Every single playlist I have ever created on YouTube has used this feature.Without the ability to automatically add videos to playlists on their release, there is no way, currently, to trigger the addition of a video to a playlist once the scheduled video has been published. Without this feature, as a Creator, I would have to be active on YouTube Studio as every video is scheduled to be published, to manually add the video to the correct playlist at the same second as its publication. This would essentially eliminate many of the advantages of scheduling a video for release in the first place. This would be made far worse when batch-uploading videos. I cannot see that YouTube would expect their creators to stand this much tedium.I understand that the “Auto Add” feature is less used than other features, but I feel that is largely because it hasn’t been showcased. Many creators I have spoken to didn’t know much, if anything about the feature, and once shown, they’ve all agreed that it saved them huge amounts of time, and effort, and record-keeping. Since the new YouTube Studio has been released, the Auto-Add feature has been relegated to the “non-polymer” pages, and treated as Legacy. If the feature was showcased by YouTube, and integrated into the core Playlist implementation, it would see far more use than it does currently.YouTube has told creators to embrace the changes, and not stick to the legacy pages, and then it depreciates the absolutely essential features that were not updated, because they now get less use. This seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy, and hugely defeatist.I have no sway with the engineers at YouTube. I have no real voice in the race. I’m the owner of a small channel, doing my best to use the features that YouTube provides. I cannot put pressure on YouTube like the larger channels can. I genuinely hope, however, that someone will hear me on this. The Auto-Add feature should not be depreciated until the day that an updated feature with the minimum capabilities of the legacy feature is implemented into YouTube Studio. It is an essential feature that simply hasn’t been sold to the public as well as it should have been. I honestly don’t know what I’m supposed to do, or how I’m supposed to manage my playlists without this feature. This is my current way of doing things:1. Create a new, empty playlist. (eg. My Gaming Series – Season 1)2. Change the auto-add rules to add any video with “My Gaming Series – Season 1” in the title.3. Add the empty playlist to my channel within the “Current Series” section, and any other relevant sections. It stays hidden until the playlist contains at least one video.4. Upload episode “My Gaming Series – Season 1, Ep. 1”, and schedule for release the next day.5. Immediately upon release, my channel is populated with both the playlist, and the video now within the playlist, without me needing to be present.Could someone from the team that has depreciated the Auto-Add feature please reply to this question, and explain step-by-step as I have just done, how to achieve the exact same results, without the Auto-Add feature? I genuinely have no idea how it can be done.Yours sincerely,Apache Gaminghttps://youtube.com/c/ApacheGamingUKOk, seems we are all frustrated. Thank you so much for voting on this topic to keep it visible. However, nobody from YT support even saw our frustration. We probably need to be heard more… thinking about video for this ISSUE. While I search I didn’t even find anybody complaining from YT creators… are they sleeping or what ?AUTO ADD, was so helpful, and seemed to be so easy to maintain. It saves a lot of people’s time. Time for creation vs Time for moving videos manually. Lost time. I cannot understand the reasons that youtube team have for taking that feature down.Come on. Take it back, please. As usual, Google and Youtube show a terrible management of their platforms and respect with their users. Out of nothing they remove extremely useful features (while ignoring posts over posts in the support pages at least asking for an explanation) while at the same time add new features which are totally useless (as if to add a new feature it was mandatory to remove an old one). It’s very sad to see that this is common pratice in anything Google, from Gmail, to Calendar, to Sheets, to Youtube… always the same pattern… remove/change features out of blue and be silent about it when users complainThank you all for your votes & feedback here 🙌 I wish the YT support will notice this post & maybe start think about bringing this valuable feature back.I use this all the time. Need it backAdding myself to the list of people that used this feature extensively. Either bring the feature back, or make private/unlisted/scheduled videos not show up in playlists for people that can’t watch them.I would like to add my agreement and strongly second this appeal. I am currently the sole manager for the YouTube channel for Microsoft’s ID@Xbox, the independent developers’ program for Xbox. Our advertising team handles the main Xbox YouTube channel, but we do not have a team of that size budgeted for the ID@Xbox side. That leaves one or two people to manage all uploads and social posts. We have relationships with game developers and publishers in all world markets, which means game trailers are scheduled to flip public at all hours of the day in order to sync with local times. Developers and publishers count on the timing of our uploads to align with game releases, announcements and social posts. This directly affects their bottom line as well as the Xbox reputation, and is a vital feature of our relationships with the thousands of developers and publishers in our  rapidly expanding portfolio. We simply do not have the staff to manually add every trailer to a selected playlist at all hours of the day and night. If there is no way to restore the auto-add feature, we would welcome any insight into an alternative process for automatically adding scheduled videos to playlists. This was the ONLY thing keeping my videos organized. Youtube just blatantly lied about it not being used, or they’re comparing their findings to the many accounts that are probably not active. But they clearly need a better analytics group.i like it your videoI am a product expert and I am totally in with all of these persons. Please bring this feature back.  It is such a great tool the ‘auto add”Thank you Michael DYes! I just noticed this! This is bad bad to be removed, YouTube bring this back, I have used this years, all my console uploading goes right places, no one has time to go there after hundreds uploads to but them correct playlists. This is so bad, and when YT says it was unused, maybe because it was pain in the arse to use at in first place, not average user can’t find that feature in first place.Has there been any update on when this feature will be restored? It was rather rude of YouTube to remove it without notice when no alternative was provided.I want my auto-add back! I upload movie trailers, and I have playlists for each genres. I set up my whole work flow to make sure the genres are in tags, which get them auto-added to the correct genre :0(
