Need to be able to test ad sense in an ASP.NET website in a development & test environment 0 Recommended Answers 0 Replies

I am redeveloping an existing website for a family member.  The existing, production website uses ad sense (and has been for years) but is developed in a technology that is no longer supported (vendor went out of business).  I need to be able to test ad sense in the new (ASP.NET / C#) web site I am developing before it moves to production to ensure that the ads actually display and that the page layouts appear correctly.  How can I go about doing this?  Can I use the family member’s existing ad sense info from a web site that isn’t registered?  Once the new site is ready to move to production it will replace the existing site and use the same URL.Thanks!

>>How can I go about doing this?<<   You can't. Adsense doesn't have test ads nor can it be used on a test site. The site needs to be live & fully functional.   >>Can I use the family member’s existing ad sense info from a web site that isn’t registered?<<   No, every TLD URL needs to be reviewed & approved before ads will show.   >>Once the new site is ready to move to production it will replace the existing site and use the same URL.<<   Adsense also doesn't accept duplicate content so you couldn't put the same content on a different URL & get it approved to see how the ads work before replacing the existing site.   Thus you basically have to rebuild the site & have it functioning without the ad code, replace the exisiting site, & then add the ad code afterwards.
